Principal's Message

Dear Plaza families,

What a pleasure it is to be back in the Harrison district! For those of you I have not had the honor of meeting, I am a 1992 Harrison graduate, which has made me feel “at home” in my new position. For the last 7 years I was the principal at Glenwood Leadership Academy, and I am proud to join the Plaza Pacer team!

For those of you that are new like me, I want to welcome you to the Plaza community.  I am very excited about the goals we are setting to improve our school and our community! Right now, our leadership team is in the process of setting goals for the year on academics and socio-emotional learning for our students and staff.

I really appreciated the feedback some of you gave in our parent survey over the summer, and I am proud to say we are establishing goals based on that feedback as well. We will be using a multi-tiered approach to positively impact the culture and climate of the building at the student level, teacher level, and community level. You may have already noticed the students participating in development on how we treat others at school, being an advocate for positive mental health, etc. Our next development activity with students will be on social media. While it will take time to see substantive change, we are excited about the changes we see already!

Have a great day!
